Simple and Cozy

January 7, 2015

Sweater: Nordstrom. Faux leather leggings: Club Monaco (very similar). Booties: Aldo via Zappos. Purse: Forever 21 (very similar). Necklace: Add-a-Pearl. Earrings: Baublebar

I have a feeling that you're going to be seeing a lot of these booties over the next few months. I'm obsessed! Mark gave me this ultra-cozy sweater for Christmas and I think I've worn it four times already! It's so cozy and the high-low hem is perfect to wear with these faux leather leggings. The necklace I'm wearing here is very near and dear to me. It's an Add-a-Pearl necklace and so it started as just one pearl that I got from my grandma when I was probably seven or eight. My sister has one too. My grandma has since passed away, but my mom continues to give us pearls for birthdays and Christmases. The idea is that eventually we'll have a full string of pearls.

Hope your week is going well!

Casual Date Night

January 5, 2015

Top: J. Crew Factory (similar). Waterfall cardigan: Loft (similar). Necklaces: J. Crew (similar) and J. Crew Factory. Jeans: Gap. Boots: Aldo via Zappos. Purse: Forever 21 (very similar).

I wore this outfit out for a casual date night with Mark last week; it was perfect for dinner and a movie. These booties are one of my favorite Christmas presents that I received. I already have so many outfits planned around them!

Well the last three weeks of break have breezed by. It's back to work tomorrow, and then classes start again in two weeks. Mark and I had a very relaxed NYE. We ordered pizza, made champagne drinks, and watched movies (I may or may not have fallen asleep before midnight #whoops). Then we went to my cousin's wedding on Friday night, which was so fun! I love weddings. We also celebrated Christmas with Mark's family and then had a fancy night out in Minneapolis last night.

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for following along with this little blog. I love creating content and it's amazing that someone's actually reading it! So thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support!

Happy Monday!

The Best of 2014

December 31, 2014

Here's a look back at some of my favorite outfits from 2014! Hard to believe that today is the last day of the year! This year was an absolute blast. I started my last year of college, decided to move to California, took trips to NYC, Chicago, and SF, and became president of NSAC, among other things. 2015 is going to be a big year for me. I'll be graduating, looking for a job, and moving across the country. Bring it on!

Navy and Red

December 29, 2014

Coat: Topshop via Nordstrom (similar with more sizes here). Sweater: J. Crew Factory. Jeans: Gap. Boots: Hunter. Mittens: Macy's (similar).

I received this fun Topshop coat for Christmas and I already love it! I especially love the plaid detailing on the cuffs. I'm quickly learning that navy coats attract lint though, so please excuse the linty coat in the pictures. I know that Christmas is over but I cannot get enough of the color red. For the longest time I thought it was too Christmasy and wouldn't wear it during the rest of the year, but now I realize how ridiculous that is. It's probably the color I wear most these days. And don't even get me started on where I would be if I didn't have red lipstick... ;)

So how was your Christmas?! Mine was very low-key. On Christmas Eve we went to my uncle's for dinner then to an evening mass. On Christmas day we stayed in our PJs all day. That's my perfect Christmas: lounging all day.  Over the weekend Mark and I started watching Lost (like ten years late to the game on this one) and had date night where we went to see The Imitation Game (so so good)! I also spent the day exploring St. Paul with my family and had another Christmas family gathering last night.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
