Eating: mini cinnamon rolls from Costco. So good!
Reading: The Husband's Secret. It's juicy.
Getting: excited for Thursday! I'm headed home for a spontaneous visit and I cannot wait.
Wanting: this perfectly girly Ann Taylor sweater.
Wishing: that fall would hurry up!
Watching: True Detective. I have to be honest, we're not loving it.
Feeling: driven. It's time to make some changes and make things happen.
Needing: some time with girlfriends. Can't wait to see them this weekend!
Loving: that I get to spend every day with Mark. It still doesn't feel real.
Cooking: hot dogs, lol. We bought a lifetime supply from Costco.
Implementing: daily walks. I'm trying to be more active with all of my free time.
Happy Monday friends! I just wanted to check in and share a few of the things that are currently going on with me. How was everyone's weekend? We kept pretty busy, the gopher volleyball team was in town playing at Stanford, so we felt like we had a little piece of home. We also went to a music in the park concert, that was honestly pretty disappointing, and I watched the VMAs for the first time. So it was a little bit random!

Basics Combined
August 26, 2015
Top: J. Crew Factory (similar). Jacket: Kut from the Kloth (similar). Jeans: J. Crew Factory. Shoes: New Balance (similar). Purse: Old Navy (similar). Sunglasses: RayBan.
How's your week going? Mine has been a whirlwind of emotions so far. Job hunting is no easy feat, let me just say that. It's hard to stay positive, but I'm taking it one day at a time. We haven't been up to much lately. Staying in, playing tennis, watching True Detective. That's pretty much it!
As far as this outfit goes, I don't really love it. That's how life goes, though. I'm not sure what it is, because I love all of these pieces, but just not together I guess? Also, it's definitely not cool enough for all of the layers here yet! I'm just getting a little ahead of myself :)
On an unrelated note, I just set up a Poshmark account, if you want to check out a few of the things I'm selling!

Netflix Series to Watch
August 24, 2015
I'm still on the job hunt, so I have a lot of free time to kill. What does that mean? Netflix! Was there ever a greater invention? Okay, yes, but it's still pretty great. Along with asking people what they're reading, I love to ask what they're binge watching on Netflix. Here are a few of my favorites:
via GIPHY
1. Mad Men. As any good advertising major should, I loved Mad Men. Every episode is clever and interesting, the costumes are amazing, and the characters are great. Peggy Olson is my spirit animal (see above).
2. Parks and Recreation. It took me a while to get into Parks and Rec, but now after having watched all of the seasons it's one of my favorite shows. The best part is that you love every single character. Seriously, everyone is so well written and hilarious. I mean, this is where treat yo self came from!
3. Dexter. Mark and I just finished this and I miss it! It's extremely captivating and definitely makes you think. I mean, it makes you root for a serial killer after all...
4. One Tree Hill. This show is all kinds of ridiculous, but I still love it. It's so dramatic, but not very complicated. It definitely deteriorates in quality as the seasons go on and main characters leave, but I saw it through until the very end. I have this thing where I have to finish a show once I've started.

5. Parenthood. I really enjoyed Parenthood, but it was never able to keep my full attention. I would usually end up doing something else at the same time. That's not to say that I didn't like it, because I'm still recommending it! The characters are all so normal, and I really enjoyed that it seems like it could actually be real life and a real family.
6. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. You can breeze through the whole first (and only) season in a weekend, no problem. The episodes are only 20 minutes, and they're hilarious. My friends and I could watch this over and over again. Tina Fey is a genius.
7. 30 Rock. Speaking of Tina Fey, I couldn't forget about 30 Rock. I haven't finished it yet (I'm only on season 3), but I'm loving it. It was kind of like Parks and Rec, where I needed a few episodes to get into it, but now I think it's so brilliant. It's like Parks where you love every character and you really appreciate the writing.
8. Grey's Anatomy. I never got into Grey's when my mom or friends were watching it in high school, but then my sophomore year of college I decided to give it a try on Netflix and I was hooked. This is by far my favorite show ever. I just love everything about it. It's fascinating, I have come to love the characters, and I think Shonda can do no wrong (also love Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder)!
What are you currently binge watching? I would love to know!

Fall Cravings
August 21, 2015
1. Very Volatile booties // 2. J. Crew Factory tortoise necklace // 3. Chicwish trench coat // 4. BC Footwear booties // 5. ASOS belt // 6. Old Navy vest // 7. Forever 21 clutch // 8. Banana Republic loafers // 9. ASOS loafers // 10. J. Crew Factory striped sweatshirt // 11. BaubleBar tassel earrings // 12. Ann Taylor purse // 13. Nordstrom cashmere sweater
I held out as long as I possibly could, but now I am aching for fall and all of the clothes that come with it! I'm sick of my summer clothes and September is quickly approaching, so it's time to start thinking about fall wardrobes. I think I'm going to be in for a rude awakening when it never feels like fall here in California, but I'll just have to sweat through it I guess (TMI?). As you can tell from above I'm loving red, cognac, and blush pink for fall! If I could, I would buy every single one of these items up above.
This week has been a pretty good one, just getting back into the swing of things after being gone last weekend. We don't have any plans this weekend, so that's always nice!
Hope you have a good weekend!

Recent Reads Vol. 2
August 19, 2015
I have been reading a ton lately (I have so much free time!) so I thought I would share some of my recent favorites because I love hearing what other people are reading.
Eight Hundred Grapes. I really enjoyed this book, and probably read it in a little over a day! It's a great beach read about a woman whose family owns a vineyard in Sonoma. I'm going to Sonoma with my family in October, so this got me really excited about our upcoming trip!
Modern Romance. I love Aziz, he just gets it. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I started this book, but it wasn't this. That's not a bad thing, though. I really enjoyed Modern Romance. It's a bit more scientific and serious than I was expecting, but there's definitely a lot of his personality in there. I would say it's worth a read.
Dead Wake. I can't even remember where I read about Dead Wake, but I know I read a review that recommended it, so I added it to my library list. By the time it was delivered to my Kindle, I didn't remember what it was about, or why I had ordered it. It's a non-fiction book about the last crossing of the Lusitania (I had never heard of it either). Definitely not my typical genre, I'm usually all about chick lit, but I really enjoyed it! It's about events that I should have known more about (oops) and made for a very interesting read.
The One and Only. This one was kind of ridiculous, but entertaining nonetheless. It takes place in a fictitious college town with a great football team. If you know me, then you know I can't stand football, so the fact that I read a book all about it is saying something!
Have you read anything you'd recommend lately?

Wedding Weekend in Notre Dame
August 18, 2015
I just wanted to quickly drop in and tell you about Mark and my weekend! We spent it in Notre Dame, Indiana for his sister's wedding. If you follow on other social channels, chances are you've already seen some of this content! Anyways, it was such a fun weekend, and exactly what I needed. It was a beautiful wedding and I loved being surrounded by people all weekend.
The highlight was definitely my mom surprising me and coming to Notre Dame for the wedding! She and Mark had been conspiring for a month and they 100% surprised me. I hadn't seen her in two and a half months, so it was so nice to spend the weekend with her :)
Notre Dame is really big in Mark's family, so it was fun to finally see the campus.
Here's a picture of us at the rehearsal dinner. I really didn't take many pictures (oops), but I just wanted to share! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Who Says?
August 12, 2015
Top: Banana Republic (similar). Skirt: J. Crew (similar). Shoes: Kohl's. Clutch: Target (similar). Necklace: Loft Outlet (similar).
Pink and purple aren't colors that I would typically think to pair together, unless I was decorating an 11 year old's bedroom exclusively with products from Claire's (I totally was that girl btw). But, anyways, who says you can't pair pink and purple together? Sometimes you just have to embrace your inner 11 year old and run with it. I think the reason that these colors work together in this outfit is because they're understated hues. I've been doing a lot of closet remixing, and one great way to feel like your wardrobe is fresh is to pair unexpected colors together.
I'm signing off on the blog for the week because we're headed to South Bend, Indiana for Mark's sister's wedding! As always, you can follow along on Insta and snap (@myinnerfabulous)!
Have a great rest of your week!

Dressing it Up
August 10, 2015
Dress: Tahiri. Shoes: Zara (similar). Blazer: Nine West (similar). Purse: Topshop (similar). Necklace: J. Crew (similar).
I bought this dress back in April for a presentation and have since worn it for a few other professional events. A black shift dress is one of those things that is very versatile and that you can accessorize for for a ton of different things. Highly recommend!
How was your weekend? Mine was very low key: lots of movies and reading, and just generally recharging after two weekends of visitors. Now we're gearing up for a trip to Indiana on Thursday for a wedding!

Life Lately
August 5, 2015
Life has been kind of a whirlwind the last few weeks (in the best way)! One of my closest friends visited two weekends ago, and then my sister visited last weekend. It was so wonderful to have two of my favorite people visit in such quick succession - it definitely made time fly by! While they were visiting we did a lot of fun things that I wanted to share here. First up, Malorie's visit:
We grabbed gourmet brats (!!!) at Rosamunde and then went to Alamo Square to check out the Painted Ladies.
Had pretty and delicious cocktails at A16.
Saw pretty views of the GG Bridge from the beach.
#windy
We had the most amazing ice cream at Smitten to end our night in SF. I am not kidding: best ice cream I've ever had. It's so fun because you can see them freeze it in front of you with liquid nitrogen!
As you can see, we basically ate our way through Northern California. Ellen's trip wasn't much different:
We explored Santa Cruz and the Twin Lakes beach.
Climbed giant hills for beautiful views.
Took Mark's new selfie stick out for a spin. He would like you all to know that he did not buy it, but that he got it for free at work ;)
The best thing that we did when Ellen was visiting was biking across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. The views were breathtaking, not to mention that it was the most beautiful day I have ever spent in SF!
#stylishandsafe
Then we had dinner at Barrel House in Sausalito where you sit at a bar that is literally over the water!
I'm so happy to have such amazing people that come to visit! It was fun to show them around our new home. Now life is back to normal, until next weekend when we leave for Mark's sister's wedding. All sorts of fun stuff going on right now!

Drugstore Beauty Favorites
August 3, 2015
I don't post about beauty products normally on the blog because it's not something that I'm very passionate about or ever really got into, but if it's something you would like to see more of, let me know! Over the years I've tried a lot of drug store products, so I wanted to share some of my tried and true beauty faves. I have been using all of these products for at least a year.
Johnson's Baby Powder. You may be wondering why this is on my list, because it is not in fact a beauty product. I actually use baby powder as dry shampoo and it works wonders. You can get a huge bottle for so cheap! I will say that this only works for lighter colored hair.
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipstick. This lipstick is hands down the best drugstore lipstick money can buy. I even like it better than MAC. You have to try it! It stays on all day through eating and drinking. It will start to fade a little, but ends up looking like a nice lip stain instead.
St Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion. I've been using this for years and it's the best. I love the smell and it keeps my skin lovely and soft.
Herbal Essence Hello Hydration conditioner. I pretty much love all Herbal Essence products because of the smell alone. I've tried a lot of different scents, but I keep coming back to Hello Hydration. I love the coconutty smell! Weirdly, I get tons of complements on it.
Conair 1" curling iron. I'm not quite sure why people insist on spending hundreds of dollars on curling irons, when Conair from Target works perfectly fine. This one is only $10. I've been using Conair curling irons for years. They do stop working after a couple of years, but that's to be expected.
CeraVe face wash. This stuff is amazing. It takes all of my makeup off without having to use makeup remover (except lipstick). It's really gentle, which is great for my sensitive skin. It is a little bit of a splurge as far as drugstore products go, but it looks like I'll have to start buying it on Amazon instead!
CeraVe moisturizer. I also use their moisturizer and it's nice and light, while still keeping my skin hydrated.
Tresemme hairspray. I've tried a lot of hairsprays over the years and this one is the perfect balance of holding a curl while not making hair crunchy.
Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen. I can vouch for this product and that it doesn't make me break out! I burn very easily and have become way more conscious about sun safety over the years, so sunscreen is a big part of my everyday life.
What drugstore products do you swear by?
