The Fourth
June 29, 2015
Shorts: Old Navy. Top: Banana Republic (similar). Shoes: ASOS (similar). Bag: Coach (similar). Sunglasses: J. Crew Factory (similar). Jacket: Old Navy (similar).
You will definitely find me in this exact outfit come Saturday! I 100% believe in dressing literally for holidays, even though it's a bit cliche. I love wearing red, white, and blue for the fourth, so I might as well throw in some fireworks too, right? I got these shorts from Old Navy for $10 and I didn't want to save them for the fourth, so I wore them yesterday to a movie! Our weekend was excellent. We went out to a rooftop bar on Friday night, bought lots of yummy things at the Sunnyvale farmer's market on Saturday, had drinks with a friend, and saw Inside Out. I love weekends that are the perfect mix of relaxing and going out, and this was one of them!
You may have noticed -- I cut my hair! I was getting so sick of my hair, so I decided to go for a change. So far I'm loving it!

California Apartment Tour
June 26, 2015
I'm so excited to share our apartment with you today! I had been collecting and bookmarking things that I wanted for the new apartment for months, so it's really exciting to see it come to fruition. I tried my best not to make it too girly, but Mark would argue otherwise ;) We're both fresh out of college, so the majority of our furniture is from Ikea. Both of our parents were very generous and helped us get started, which we really appreciate!
So, today's post is a long one, but I didn't want to break it up into two separate posts. I've linked as many item details as I could. Hope you enjoy!
Shoe bin: Target.
Bowl: Anthropologie (we use it for our keys).
Palm Print: Etsy. Gold World Print: Etsy. M and C: Michael's. Hot Dog Print: Etsy. Stone Arch Bridge Print: Etsy. Donut Print: Etsy. You Me Oui Print: Etsy. Moon River Sheet Music: Online Sheet Music. Golden Gate Bridge Print: Fine Art America. Pineapple Print: Etsy.
You may notice that this blanket moves around in the pictures, and that's because I spent more time than I'd care to admit trying to get the perfect casual draping!
These bins are so great for hiding unwanted chords/batteries/pens!
Hurricanes: Anthropologie.
Pillows: Pottery Barn.
I haven't finished styling the top of this console, but I wanted to share this candle holder, because I really love it!
Table: Ikea.
Centerpiece: World Market. Placemats: Crate and Barrel.
World Landmark Prints: The Everygirl. Headboard: Target. Pillows: gold polka dot, leopard, dalmatian. Duvet cover: Pottery Barn.
Lamp: Target (Mark would like you to know that he picked these out)! Nightstand: Ikea. Vase: World Market.
Well there you have it, home sweet home!

Flamingos
June 24, 2015
Sweater: Loft (similar). Jeans: J. Crew Factory. Sneakers: Bucketfeet. Purse: Target (similar). Necklaces: bar necklace borrowed via Rocksbox, the monogram was a gift, and the Minnesota is from Sisu. Sunglasses: J. Crew Factory (similar).
As of late, most of my outfits have been super casual because I don't have a whole lot going on. This is another outfit this week that isn't anything out of the ordinary, but I made sure to add some fun pieces to spice it up :) like these flamingo sneakers, the colorful bag, and the blue sunglasses. Back home in Minnesota you wouldn't catch me in jeans from about June-September, but here in California it is literally night and day difference in temperature. It's warm in the sun (75ish), but then once it sets it gets cold (for the summer) at night (50's)! Therefore, a light sweater and jeans are necessary during the summer evenings.
How's your week going so far? Yesterday was Mark's golden birthday so we celebrated by going out to dinner and I decorated with all of the gold :)

Laid Back Style
June 22, 2015
Top: J. Crew Factory. Shorts: Loft. Bag: Kate Spade. Shoes: Loft. Hat: Parc Boutique (similar). Sunglasses: Ray-Ban. Necklace and earrings: borrowed via Rocksbox.
There's really nothing novel about this outfit, but I really love these shorts. They're so comfy and cute! Some variation of this outfit is pretty much my uniform these days. Elastic waist shorts (hell yes) and a loose button down, as evidenced here, and here. I wore this for a day at Ikea over the weekend. We laid pretty low all weekend. There was the Ikea trip (I'm hoping to share apartment pictures this week!), lot's of Dexter and swimming.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Whimsical + Jord Watch
June 17, 2015
Chambray: J. Crew. Shorts: Missguided. Purse: Kate Spade. Sandals: Loft. Necklace: borrowed via Rocksbox. Sunglasses: J. Crew Factory (similar). Watch: Jord Watches c/o.
Jord Watches reached out to me a couple of weeks ago asking me to review one of their products. I chose the 'Ely' in maple. To be honest, I didn't know if a wood watch was totally my style. They seemed like something a surfer would wear, but I actually really like it (probably because I'm so Californian now;). I decided to totally play up the tropical and whimsical aspect of it with these fun botanical pom shorts and the lemon purse. Anyway, back to the watch. I like how unique it is and the masculinity of it, it's really unlike anything that I own. It seems like it's made really well too! I should also note that Mark really likes this watch, so I think it would make a great gift for any guy in your life! Here's a closer look:
