Re-wear

July 31, 2015

Remember this post from last week? I raved about how great matching separates are because you can get so many outfits out of them. Today I wanted to show you a different way to re-wear the top and bottom separately!

This skirt could be paired with so many great basics: a chambray, a bright colored button down, or the top from this post (I would love to interchange the top and bottoms in both of these outfits)!

And this top could go great with lots of different bottom options! Since it's so fitted it's great for skirts, or bottoms that have more volume, like these pants, or this skirt.

Look 1: Top: Target (similar). Skirt: J. Crew Factory. Purse: Forever 21 (similar). Shoes: JCPenny's (similar).
Look 2: Top: Loft. Skirt: Target (similar). Shoes: Jessica Simpson. Clutch: Target (similar). Necklace: J. Crew (similar).

Unfortunately, this matching set from Target isn't available anymore. However, the matching separates trend is still going strong, so there are lots of good ones in stores. Today's post is particularly relevant, because I'm going to have to get more creative with remixing my closet without a source of income. So you'll definitely be seeing lots of my favorite pieces being re-worn!

Have any big plans for the weekend? My sister is coming to visit (!!!) and so there will be lots of food and sightseeing! Follow along on Instagram or Snapchat: myinnerfabulous

10 Things About Me

July 29, 2015

Personally, I love reading random facts about people. Celebrities, other bloggers, people whose careers I admire. I think it's because it's fun to be surprised and feel like you "know" someone you've never met. Today, I wanted to share some random things about me so that you can get to know me better, even if it's just over the internet!

•Mark and I met in junior high band, but didn't start dating until sophomore year of high school. He played the trumpet, I played the french horn :) bet you wouldn't have guessed that was my instrument!

•I loooove dogs. We had a golden retriever named Dori growing up and my sister and I were obsessed with her. I get my fix now through following tons of cute pups on Instagram (yes, that's a thing)! I'm patiently waiting until everything works out and we can finally get a dog.

•I hate feet. Yours, mine, everyone's. I don't like when my own feet touch each other, it weirds me out. Strange, I know.

•I played volleyball from 3rd grade through my senior year of high school. People are usually surprised, because I'm not that tall (5'7").

•My perfect day would include sleeping in, eating lots of delicious breakfast foods, reading, going out for date night, and then snuggling up to watch netflix.

•Going off of that last one, breakfast is my absolute favorite meal. I could eat breakfast food all day every day.

•Boats freak me out. I'm not sure where the fear came from, but I have nightmares about boats all the time. I can still ride on them, but once it gets wavy, I hold on for dear life!

•My family means everything to me. My immediate family is just me, my mom, and my sister, so we're very close. My dad died from ALS when I was five.

•I think I am one of the five Americans who actually likes Peeps. Yes, I mean the marshmallow Easter candies.

•If I had to listen to one song on repeat for the rest of my life it would be Natalie Cole's "This Will Be."

Well, I hope you feel like you got to "know" me a little bit better! I would love to hear any random facts you have in the comments!

Black and White

July 27, 2015

Top: Banana Republic (similar). Skirt: J. Crew Factory. Shoes: JCPenny's (similar). Purse: Forever 21 (similar). Necklace: J. Crew Factory (similar).

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend :) one of my best friends was in town and we had the best time. We ate a ton of food, spent Saturday in San Francisco, hung out by the pool, and watched movies. It was just what I needed. Now I'm excited because my sister is coming to visit this weekend!

Now, about this outfit. I bought this skirt last summer after buying it in yellow first (seen here, and here). It's one of my all-time favorite purchases and I highly recommend. I love the whimsical flare! I would love to buy it in every color if I could!

*Keeping it real: While I did actually wear this outfit, IRL, I 86ed the heels after taking pictures. Can you blame me?

Loving Lately

July 24, 2015

Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share some things that I've been loving lately and that I think you'll love too!

•Okay, so I didn't know who Amy Schumer was until I heard about Trainwreck, but now I'm kind of obsessed with her. I've been watching a bunch of interviews she's done and just lol-ing the whole time. Here's a particularly good one with Jimmy Fallon.

•We're pretty much done decorating our apartment, but I still love reading about/browsing home decor. This Everygirl article about how to decorate on a budget, while still making your home look expensive is a fun read.

•I just finished reading The Silkworm, which is the second book in the Cormoran Strike series by J. K Rowling. It was strange to read books other than Harry Potter by her, because these books are so adult, but I really enjoyed them! I would highly recommend.

Aziz Ansari just gets it.

•Another Buzzfeed article, but this one was just too good not to share

•I actually died a little bit from cuteness overload when I saw this video on Instagram

•Ii don't know about you, but I grew up with Space Jam, so this was pretty exciting.

Hope you have a great weekend :) one of my best friends is visiting, so we'll be busy!

Matching Stripes + Flowers

July 22, 2015

Top: Target. Skirt: Target (similar). Shoes: Jessica Simpson. Clutch: Target (similar). Necklaces: J. Crew (similar) and J. Crew Factory

I'm really starting to appreciate a good matching separates outfit (last seen here) because of all the possibilities! It's two pieces that can be worn together or a million different ways separately. I'm hoping to show some other ways to wear this particular set next week! Unfortunately, I waited too long to post this outfit because the skirt is sold out #damn, but I linked a similar skirt that would work with this top.

This week has been pretty good so far, except for the change in our diets. We're trying clean eating for a change, and so far I'm struggling! I'll be sure to give an update as time goes on.

Hope your week is going swimmingly!

Dressed Up Casual

July 20, 2015

Blazer: Macy's (similar). Top: Loft. Jeans: J. Crew Factory. Shoes: ShoeMint. Necklace: J. Crew (similar). Purse: Topshop (similar).

This outfit is something that I like to call "dressed up casual," and would be perfect for a concert (where you get to sit!), date night, or going out with friends. Blazers aren't normally my thing, but I fell in love with the details on this one. I couldn't find it online, but it was just in the store last week, so I'm sure it's still available!

This weekend was pretty low-key (as per usual). On Friday we grabbed dinner and saw Trainwreck (loved). Saturday we played tennis and ran some errands. Sunday was spent watching Dexter pretty much the whole day. Whoops! Sometimes you just need a lazy weekend. Especially when the next two weekends are going to be packed with fun activities because we're having visitors! One of my best friends is coming this weekend and then my sister is coming the weekend after. I'm so excited to see them and show them around our new home!

*Keeping it real: IRL you'll very very rarely find me wearing jeans with heels, it's just not something I normally do, I just thought they looked good with this outfit!

Wedding Guest

July 15, 2015

Dress: Ted Baker (available in limited sizes). Shoes: Jessica Simpson. Purse: Forever 21 (similar). Earrings: Old Navy.

I think this is quite possibly the most beautiful dress ever, but I'm biased because it is now my very own. I love this one because the flowers make it summery, but the black makes it season-less. You will for sure find me wearing this come December. Ted Baker is not normally in my budget, but I was able to score this beauty at a deeply discounted price because my size was the only one left at Nordstrom! #fate

Anywho, today's post is about everyone's favorite (well my favorite) summer activity: weddings! I love weddings, and it's always a fun excuse to get a new dress. This dress is for Mark's sister's wedding in August, but I just couldn't wait to share. My rules for buying dresses for weddings are simple: make sure you can wear it multiple times and make sure you can dance in it (duh)! Here are some amazing dresses at every price point that would be perfect for a summer wedding and then other occasions too!

Save: one // two // three // four // five // six //

Splurge: one // two // three // four // five //

Pretty Things

July 13, 2015

Hello! I just wanted to pop in and share some pretty things I've had my eye on. As you've probably heard, Nordstrom is having its anniversary sale right now, and you can get new fall items discounted. That's why you're seeing boots and jackets in July :) the sale doesn't open until Thursday (unless you have a Nordstrom card), but it's a good one! Since I still don't have a job, I'm not doing much shopping, but I thought these items were too good not to share.

How was your weekend? Mark and I played some tennis, watched some tennis, went out for pizza, and did our fair share of lounging. We also walked over to Levi Stadium on Saturday night because One Direction was playing. We live about a 20 minute walk away and we just wanted to go see what was going on, and then we got to hear a few songs! Hoping you had a great weekend!

New Balance

July 8, 2015

Sneakers: New Balance (similar). Jeans: Loft (similar). Graphic tee: Old Navy (similar). Jacket: Old Navy (similar). Tote: Old Navy (similar).

I got these sneakers back before my trip to Orlando in May and am just getting around to posting them now! Unfortunately, they're not available anymore, but New Balance has so many good options right now. I love that sneakers are in style and can be chic. They're so perfect for days where you're running errands, or exploring. This is my second pair of New Balance and I can vouch for their comfort in addition to their cuteness!

Hope your week is going well!

*Keeping it real: I threw this outfit together only to take pictures :) you gotta do what you gotta do.
