Phew, it feels good to be back to blogging! I didn't intend to take a week off, but as most of you know, I was home for almost a week and I was just so busy. I never want blogging to feel like a chore, so I decided to just wait until I was back and settled in California. It was an amazing trip home! I saw tons of friends, spent a lot of time with my family, ate all of the food, and enjoyed beautiful summer Minnesota. My trip actually came at the perfect time because I accepted my first job last week! It was so great to get in a trip home before I start work and it definitely made the trip so much happier because of my good news. I was on the job hunt for three months and had a lot of frustrating experiences, so I'm thrilled to put that behind me. I start on Monday! Monday is also Mark and my seven year anniversary, and we're going to the Vikings vs. 49ers game here in Santa Clara (my birthday present to him)! So it's a big day haha. We're going to celebrate our anniversary this weekend by going to the beach, and I also plan to cheer on my boy Djokovic in the US Open!
Now, about this outfit: I actually really love it. It's simple, but still has enough interest. I love the combination of white, black, and cognac. Everyone had been raving about these Topshop tank tops, so I decided to try one out. I love the flow and the cut of the top and it comes in tons of colors! Unfortunately, if you wear it without something over it you have to wear a strapless bra. And we all know those are actually the worst.

Well, we've made it half way through the week! It feels like a short week for me though, because I'm headed home tomorrow. It's funny, Mark and I used to go months without seeing each other, but now I'm so used to seeing him every day, that I know it's going to be hard to be away from him. Even if it's only for a few days! I've become so weak so quickly ;) Anyway, about this outfit. It's one I wear a lot. It's especially nice for the cooler California nights because of this lightweight sweater. I linked a super similar one up above!

Eating: mini cinnamon rolls from Costco. So good!
Reading: The Husband's Secret. It's juicy.
Getting: excited for Thursday! I'm headed home for a spontaneous visit and I cannot wait.
Wanting: this perfectly girly Ann Taylor sweater.
Wishing: that fall would hurry up!
Watching: True Detective. I have to be honest, we're not loving it.
Feeling: driven. It's time to make some changes and make things happen.
Needing: some time with girlfriends. Can't wait to see them this weekend!
Loving: that I get to spend every day with Mark. It still doesn't feel real.
Cooking: hot dogs, lol. We bought a lifetime supply from Costco.
Implementing: daily walks. I'm trying to be more active with all of my free time.
Happy Monday friends! I just wanted to check in and share a few of the things that are currently going on with me. How was everyone's weekend? We kept pretty busy, the gopher volleyball team was in town playing at Stanford, so we felt like we had a little piece of home. We also went to a music in the park concert, that was honestly pretty disappointing, and I watched the VMAs for the first time. So it was a little bit random!

How's your week going? Mine has been a whirlwind of emotions so far. Job hunting is no easy feat, let me just say that. It's hard to stay positive, but I'm taking it one day at a time. We haven't been up to much lately. Staying in, playing tennis, watching True Detective. That's pretty much it!
As far as this outfit goes, I don't really love it. That's how life goes, though. I'm not sure what it is, because I love all of these pieces, but just not together I guess? Also, it's definitely not cool enough for all of the layers here yet! I'm just getting a little ahead of myself :)
