Travel Diary: New York

July 22, 2014

You may or may not know that I spent the last four days in NYC for my sister's college graduation trip. This was our third time to New York--we just can't get enough!

I knew that I wanted to explore Central Park on this trip, so I spent a couple hours wandering while my mom was meeting a friend and Ellen was getting her fill of the Met. I alternated between strolling around and people watching from a bench for almost two hours! It's such a huge park, with so much to see. Everyone (couples) were out in rowboats, which may be cheesy, but equally adorable.

More Central Park wanderings.

On Friday night we saw A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. So. Good. This was probably my favorite part of our trip (walking the Brooklyn Bridge was almost as good!). It was so so entertaining, and the actors were amazing!

I couldn't go to New York and not take a picture of the Plaza.

View of Chelsea from the High Line.

The quaint streets of the West Village. When can I move in?

On Saturday we had a really fun night that started with drinks, then dinner at a delicious Greek restaurant, and then after-dinner drinks and jazz at a bar. It was basically a perfect night...minus the part where I fell down the stairs in front of the entire Greek restaurant. Not drunk, I promise! Just no traction on my sandals (they were flats too). Oh the things we do for fashion.

The Guggenheim. So cool to see this building from the inside.

Mark's sister and her fiancé live in New York (we had a lovely brunch with bottomless mimosas!) and she recommended we get cupcakes at Two Little Red Hens. Seriously, the best ever.

Enjoying the view along the Hudson.

My second favorite part was walking the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan at twilight. So gorgeous.

On our first two trips to New York we did a lot of touristy things like Times Square and the Statue of Liberty. So it was fun this time around to just explore more of the neighborhoods and really get a feel for the city!

Be sure to check back for a new outfit post tomorrow!
