Blog Tour

September 8, 2014

Today I'm participating in something called a "blog tour," where I'll be telling you a little bit more about My Inner Fabulous and introducing you to some fabulous ladies you should be following! I was asked by the lovely Noelani of Lattes and Lavender to participate in the blog tour. You should head on over to her blog for some wonderful outfit inspiration and to give her some love!

Now a few things about me:

1. What are you working on?

Let's see, I just moved into a new house so I'm working on decorating and getting settled. I spent all summer buying bedding, pillows, dishes, etc, so it's fun to finally see everything come together.

I just started my senior year at the University of Minnesota last week, so I'm working on finishing
up my degree. And lastly, I'm always working on growing this little online space and creating quality content.

2. How does my blog differ from others in its genre?

One of the things I pride myself on is that I don't hop on every trend. I'm not saying that I don't buy trendy pieces (hello romper) but if I don't like something that's "in" then I won't wear it. I don't feel the need to try every trend or buy something just because a lot of other people are wearing it. I definitely draw inspiration from other bloggers and what I see other people wearing, so I'm not trying to say that everything I do is original, because it's not. But I know what I like and I think I do a good job of staying true to my sense of style.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

Honestly, because I genuinely love it. I love putting together outfits and trying to come up with new ways to wear pieces, so it was only natural that I would share that on my blog. I have fun putting together outfits and if someone is inspired along the way then that's even better!

4. How does your writing/creative process work?

There isn't really a magic formula for how I come up with outfits to post. A lot of times I'll randomly think of a new way to pair things, or an outfit I want to try so I'll make a note of it. I have lists of things I want to wear together on my phone, in my planner, and on post-its all over my house! After I jot down these outfits I'll go home and try them on together and take pictures. My phone is filled with outfits I want to share here. Then I can go back and look at the pictures to see whether I think it works together or not. Not much of a process, but that's how I do it!

Now I would like to introduce you to some other fabulous Midwest bloggers!

Caitlin writes the blog Gussied Up where you can find some fab outfit inspiration. She lives in Kansas City with her husband and is an advocate for dressing up (couldn't agree more!). I first noticed Caitlin on Instagram and I knew that I needed to feature her here.

Maggie of Blush and Blooms  is one of my favorite instagramers, she has such a good eye for fashion and design! Maggie currently lives in Columbus, but she also lived in NYC for four years (so jealous!). Some of her favorite things are dance, wearing dresses, and tulips!

Lauren of Classy and Fab Girl is a twenty-something blogger living in the Midwest with her husband. She started CFG for the every girl who is looking for a place for creative inspiration to read about everything from trends, fashion finds, traveling adventures and the everyday life.

Go give these ladies some love!
