Hello hello! Today I am devoting a whole post to our wedding stationary, because it was THAT GOOD. I think I've mentioned it before but my amazing wedding planner Emily and her friend Britinee own their own stationary business called The Making 89. They are so talented and were such a joy to work with! I am a particular person and wasn't finding what I wanted in the way of stationary so they came to my rescue to design a custom suite for us and it turned out even better than I could have hoped. If you're looking for any custom stationary, whether it's for a wedding or just a beautiful handmade card, they're your gals!
On the back there were more details and another photo of us with Louie. We also introduced some elements that would continue on throughout the rest of the stationary. There was a gold foil brush stroke with C+M and our wedding date. You'll see that the gold painted look and the C+M on other pieces to come. I really wanted there to be cohesive elements that tied everything together. I know that most people don't pay much attention to the stationary and definitely wouldn't notice that it was all themed starting with the save the date but I love that stuff!
For anyone who stayed at the hotel we had these bottles of sparkling lemonade with a little welcome note attached waiting in their rooms. On the back was a hand drawn map of some of our favorite nearby places:
This is our invitation suite and it incorporated all of our colors: grey, gold and burgundy. The envelopes were grey and all hand calligraphed by The Curly Quill, who was amazing. You can see that the painted element comes in again and our C + M logo was on the custom wax seals that The Making 89 designed for us. All of these pieces were held together by a "belly band" AKA that burgundy ribbon. The ribbon was wrapped around everything and held it all together in the envelope with the wax seal glued in the middle of the ribbon on the front.
Britinee hand drew a map of some Minneapolis landmarks for the back of the reception card and I am obsessed with how it turned out. I want to have one framed! Here's a closer look:
We don't have any photos of the wedding program from the actual day, so here's a very non-professional photo that I took :)
Our tables were named after TV shows that we've watched together. I don't know if we should be proud or ashamed of the fact that we were able to come up with 25 TV shows we've watched for table names.
Here's a look at our place cards that had the C+M logo and the gold seal. We had little icons for what each guest had ordered for dinner in the upper right hand corner.
The Making 89 was even able to get a wood cutout sign made in our font for the place card table. They truly went above and beyond even spray painting the cutout themselves!
We had two mirrored signs that our stationer did the writing on and were one of my favorite details.
We had this big photo wall with pictures from each of the years that we'd been dating (10 including 2017) where we brought in that gold brushstroke again.
It's hard to see and I don't have a better photo but these little signs were at the bar to let people know about "The Louie" which was our signature drink featuring Fireball and apple cider served hot or cold. It was a fun way to bring Louie into everything and have his picture there!
I don't have a zoomed in photo of the menu but we incorporated that gold brush stroke in one last time and even had the same design on our favors which were these delicious chocolate covered Oreos by Farina Baking Company.
I'm sure you can tell that I am beyond happy with how everything came together and we truly had the best team behind us. I'll be sharing my final wedding post with all of the reception details soon. If you're looking for more wedding, you can find that here!
