Light and Airy

March 16, 2015

Skirt: J. Crew. Blouse: Ann Taylor. Pumps: Target. Purse: Forever 21 (similar). Earrings: BaubleBar (similar).

Hello and happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was almost entirely spent working on NSAC (National Student Advertising Competition). We shot commercials and wrote copy all weekend (there was a fair amount of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and reading too, don't worry!). We call this week "Hell Week" because we spend all day every day of our Spring Break working. Our final project is due on Friday! Cue all of the stress dreams/anxiety/knots in my stomach! I basically won't be able to relax until April 11th when we present our project to the judges.

Hope your week is less stressful than mine!

*Keeping it real: I haven't actually worn this outfit IRL. I put it on for pictures, then immediately changed to go shoot a Pizza Hut commercial. It sure is pretty though :)

Fabulous Finds

January 16, 2015

1. A fun, felt fedora from Forever 21.
2. Gold, chunky heels from Topshop that make me excited for spring!
3. A gold crossbody by Steve Madden is the perfect accessory to glam up any outfit.
4. Love this bib from Baublebar--especially the ribbon. It's a lovely feminine touch.
5. These teal Nike's might just inspire me to work out. Lol just kidding.
6. The perfect yellow coat from J. Crew to brighten up a winter day.

Happy Friday everyone! We made it through the week! I'm sick (again) so this weekend will be spent in my pj's watching Netflix and reading. Mark's family is throwing a party to celebrate his graduation on Saturday, so I hope I'm better for that!

Have a fab weekend!

Simple and Cozy

January 7, 2015

Sweater: Nordstrom. Faux leather leggings: Club Monaco (very similar). Booties: Aldo via Zappos. Purse: Forever 21 (very similar). Necklace: Add-a-Pearl. Earrings: Baublebar.

I have a feeling that you're going to be seeing a lot of these booties over the next few months. I'm obsessed! Mark gave me this ultra-cozy sweater for Christmas and I think I've worn it four times already! It's so cozy and the high-low hem is perfect to wear with these faux leather leggings. The necklace I'm wearing here is very near and dear to me. It's an Add-a-Pearl necklace and so it started as just one pearl that I got from my grandma when I was probably seven or eight. My sister has one too. My grandma has since passed away, but my mom continues to give us pearls for birthdays and Christmases. The idea is that eventually we'll have a full string of pearls.

Hope your week is going well!

What to Wear for Thanksgiving

November 26, 2014

Hello, and happy Wednesday Friday! I know that I always struggle with what to wear for Thanksgiving, so I put together a simple but put together look that you can pull together last minute. I think most people would have all of these items, or something similar. A chunky sweater, a plaid/gingham shirt, a statement necklace, and booties are all you need.

For all of my American readers, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if you plan on Black Friday shopping, good luck! See you back here next week :)

Holiday Party Attire

November 11, 2014

I know some of you may be thinking it's a little early for this post, and you're not wrong. However, a combination of getting a few inches of snow yesterday and my love of planning ahead lead me to create this post. Personally, I start thinking about what I want to wear for holiday parties any time after Halloween (it's the type A in me), so I thought I would share a fun round-up of what's been catching my eye. A lot of fun, holiday items (especially anything sequined) will sell out the closer we get to Christmas, so it's never too early to start planning! Personally, I bought this sequined top in black and am planning an outfit around it. I also just bought this gold dress for a wedding after New Years! After Thanksgiving (yes, I have some sense of control) I'll be showing you a few different holiday styles that I plan on wearing this year. Can't wait!

Fabulous Finds

October 24, 2014

1. A fun, fringed necklace from BaubleBar.
2. A twist on a classic red pump by Jessica Simpson. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

4. Plaid trousers (I want some so bad!) from Macy's.

TGIF, amiright? This week dragged on. After I finished with midterms on Tuesday, I kept thinking the week should be over #theworst. Tonight I'm going to the Black Keys concert with my sister, and I have a friend's party on tomorrow night. So excited to not spend the whole weekend doing homework!

Have a good one!

Layers

October 15, 2014

Sweater: J. Crew. Jeans: Loft. Jacket: J. Crew (this year's version). Necklace: BaubleBar (similar). Purse: Coach. Shoes: Target (similar).

I love this sweater because it makes me look like a layering pro, but I you don't have to deal with the bulkiness of wearing multiple shirts. A little tip though, when you are layering an oxford under a sweater, wear a tank top over the button-up to get rid of some of the bulkiness!

Hope you're surviving this week better than I am!

Striped Turtleneck

October 6, 2014

Turtleneck: J. Crew (size down). Jacket: Old Navy. Faux leather pants: Club Monaco (similar). Boots: Sam Edelman. Purse: Topshop (similar). Necklace: BaubleBar (similar).

I wore this outfit to a blogger/instagrammer get together that Nora and Megan hosted over the weekend. That's one of my absolute favorite things about blogging, being able to meet other like-minded people.

This weekend was very laid back. I did a little shopping, saw The Skeleton Twins (depressing), baked pumpkin bars, and tried some new bar/restaurants with my sister. I have a midterm every week for the next three weeks, so I probably won't have very many relaxing weekends in the near future!
