If you missed it, I first captured my monthly work looks back in January and February so I wanted to do a summer version as well so you could see how I dress for the hotter months at work. As you can see I definitely have about three pairs of shoes that I wear on repeat and I was just starting to explore the headband trend last month. This was the first month that it was warm so I had fun putting together summer outfits for the first time in months and documenting them. It's actually so helpful to be able to go back and see what you wore and to get ideas for how you've styled things before. I find having photos to be really helpful and inspiring. Whenever I buy something new I like to try it on several different ways and take pictures so I can see what looks best. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this peak into my work outfits!

What I Wore to Work for a Month
February 19, 2019
I'm so excited to introduce today's post because I've been preparing it for over a month! I kept feeling guilty that I wasn't shooting outfits for the blog but in the winter I tend to feel less inspired and am rarely in the mood to stand outside in 20 degree weather for photos😇Enter the mirror selfie. I documented what I wore to work every day for four weeks in the hopes of inspiring myself to get a bit more creative with my outfits this month. Along the way I learned that I basically only ever wear my hair down, I love my cognac booties, and that I gravitate towards a lot of red, black and camel in the winter months.
A few things to note:
1. To be totally transparent, I did rewear a few things to show that I do rewear my clothes, but because I was taking photos every day I definitely repeated less than I would have normally.
2. It was dark most mornings/nights when I was taking photos so please excuse the poor overhead lighting.
3. On the days I was wearing flats, don't fret, I wore boots into the office and swapped shoes inside😊
4. I work at a very casual advertising agency so you'll notice that my outfits are pretty laid back.
Middle: Similar black top. J. Crew vest is sold out but I saw some listings for it on Poshmark. Madewell jeans. Splendid booties.
Right: J. Crew Factory sweater. Super similar tartan button down. J. Crew Factory flats. Madewell jeans.
Middle: Similar cashmere sweater. Tuckernuck scarf is sold out but Etsy has some really cool options. Similar Rag and Bone jeans. Splendid booties.
Right: Similar button down. I couldn't find any similar pants but it's this style from Old Navy. Similar flats.
Left: Halogen cashmere cardigan. My absolute favorite Caslon t-shirt. Old Navy jeans. Ralph Lauren belt. Similar mules.
Middle: Similar turtleneck. Tuckernuck scarf is sold out but Etsy has some really cool options. Madewell jeans. Splendid booties.
Left: My absolute favorite Caslon t-shirt. Similar marled cardigan. J. Crew Factory jeans. Splendid booties.
I really enjoyed putting this together so I hope you liked it too. January is kind of the worst because it was freezing and I was already sick of my winter clothes so this was a great way to force me to mix it up and not reach for the same four sweaters all the time. I plan to do another version of this in the spring or summer to inspire myself to get creative when there are less layering possibilities. I'm looking forward to it!

It's Christmas Time in the City
December 14, 2018
We were in New York last weekend to visit our new nephew and before we left I warned Mark that I planned to be very extra on this trip...enter my embellished beret. I've always wanted to go to New York at Christmas so I intended to live it up and wear all of my holiday outfits. The weekend was mostly spent hanging out with family and the new baby but we went out one day to snap these photos.

How cute is that little face? Louie was with us when we were taking photos yesterday so I pulled him in for a few snaps. I just got this top last week after ordering it nearly two months ago (hate when that happens) so unfortunately it's pretty much sold out but it's such a classic style and I've found a few similar options linked below. Recently I was feeling like I don't have any summery blouses so I'm happy this one fit because it's a nice linen material and the pink stripes are perfect for warm weather! It's the type that's extra long in the front so you can tie it but I tucked it in for this outfit. If I wore it with shorts I'd probably tie it for a cute summery look.

Hi friends, happy Monday! I had a wonderful weekend that was the perfect mix of rejuvenation and activity. On Friday we saw Ready Player One and as a non-gamer I really liked it. The plot was very interesting and I'd recommend! Saturday and Sunday were a mix of errands, walking the dog, relaxing and catching up with our shows. It's safe to say that I'm not ready for the weekend to be over, especially now that we're getting some nice spring-like weather!

Spring sprung in California yesterday! It was a gorgeous 72 degrees and gave me all of the feels. In true spring fashion it's not here to stay and we're in for a dreary, rainy week but it was glorious while it lasted. I was so excited to pull out some new spring items, especially this dress. I love the pattern and it's a nice, light material. In fact, I loved the pattern so much I bought the top version as well! I'll probably shoot the top sometime in the next week or so.
