Kimono is come from the Greek word himona
July 11, 2016
Palm print kimono: ASOS (similar from Boohoo). White lace shorts: Loft (similar from Macy's). White v-neck tank top: Topshop. Blue matte aviator sunglasses: Ray-Ban. Blue cross-body purse: Kate Spade. Gold and tan slide sandals: Loft (similar from Target). Tan Panama hat: Parc Boutique (similar from J. Crew).
Please tell me you know what I'm quoting in the title of this post😂one of my all-time favorite movies and it's what I think of every time I wear this kimono! This super casual outfit was perfect for a day of running errands, but it did make me want to lounge by the pool with a drink in my hand. That's pretty much what the weekend consisted of though: errands and lounging. Nothing out of the ordinary to report!
Hope you have a fabulous Monday and thanks so much for stopping by!

The 2016 Project Update Two
July 8, 2016
Well damn it's already Q3 folks! Time for round two of The 2016 Project updates on months April-June. It's actually insanity that we're halfway through the year, and that I've kept up with my resolutions for this long. I can tell you that's never happened. Pretty proud of myself actually, but I had a feeling that blogging about it would definitely hold me accountable.
April: go somewhere new. Okay, so I kind of failed at this one. But it wasn't a total fail. I never really went anywhere with the intention of it being counted as my April resolution, but I did go to new restaurants, parks and a new state. I think my original plan was to do something grander than those things, but there just wasn't enough time.
May: drink lemon water every morning. If you're interested in a full review of the lemon water thing you can read my post here. In short, I hated it, like irrationally so. I didn't really believe in it from the beginning so I don't think I ever expected it to stick, but now I can say I've tried it.
June: take a class. This was one of the ones I was most excited about and it did not disappoint. My friend Taryn and I took a croissant making class at Sur la Table and it was actually amazing. 1. It was really fun to learn how to bake something I would probably never otherwise make, and 2. We went home with a dozen delicious croissants. Probably the best I've ever had ;) this will definitely be something I want to do again. I really want to take a knife skills class because it's something I could definitely use some improvement on, but it wasn't as exciting as croissants. Hopefully soon!
You can keep up with all 2016 Project updates here if you'd like! If you've been following along since the beginning you may notice I made a few rearrangements, but nothing too drastic. Would love to know if you set a New Year's resolution and how it's going if you did!

Gingham Girl
July 6, 2016
Skirt: J. Crew. Top: Banana Republic (similar). Purse: Coach (similar). Shoes: Target. Watch: Cartier. Sunglasses: Illesteva. Earrings: Odette and Ophelia c/o.
The day after a long weekend is always kind of a b*tch, isn't it? I flew in last night and there was bad weather in MN so my flight was delayed and let's just say I'm not running on much sleep. Getting to see Lou tonight is getting me through the day though. Can't wait to snuggle that little guy!
My weekend was such a good one. Busy but really really good. There was a lot of family time which we don't get enough of, so I was just trying to soak it all in. I wore red white and blue for most of the weekend, including this outfit on the actual 4th. I'm a firm believer that red white and blue outfits are appropriate year round though, so I will definitely be re-wearing this one in the near future :)
Well, let's hope this short week flies by!

Five 4th of July Sales to Shop
July 1, 2016
It is finally Friday and we're headed into the 4th of July weekend! I literally cannot wait for today to be over. Mark has been home in MN since last Wednesday so I've been holding down the fort with Louie. Let me just tell you that I was so ready to drop him off at the kennel this morning ;) I'm flying home tonight and can hardly contain my excitement. I can't believe I haven't been home since January :( it's going to be a very busy (in the best way) weekend. It's Mark's dad's 60th birthday, we're headed to my family's cabin, going to all of my fav restaurants, and seeing friends. Oh and cheese curds, because Midwest.
Now, you know what a holiday weekend means for us shopping enthusiasts: sales! I've featured my five favorites and what I would love to add to my closet below:
J. Crew: 40% off select summer styles and 40-60% extra off of sale with code COOLSTYLES
Draper James: up to 60% off of select styles + get 10% off when you sign up for their emails (note that not all sale prices are reflected in the widget below)
Ann Taylor: 40% off full priced styles and extra 60% off sale items with code JULY40
Gap: 40% off of everything with code JULY4
These are some of the sales I'll definitely be shopping! Maybe even in person because MN doesn't have sales tax 😏
Whatever you're doing this weekend I hope it's amazing! I'll see you back here on Wednesday, but in the meantime you can follow along on Snap (myinnerfabulous) or Insta as always!
