The Persona of Fashion: Nautical

Here's post number two of The Persona of Fashion! I explained the idea behind this series here. The inspiration for this persona is my Sperrys. When I wear them I feel like I should be back in North Carolina or Boston to fit in, or that I should be near a beach! So here it is, my nautical persona thanks to my beat-up Sperrys.

Ways to Wear

I know I've been saying it a lot lately, but I'm just so excited-- I will be spending the beginning of my summer in London! Anyway, it feels like everyone keeps telling me to pack light, bring less than I think I need and get used to wearing the same things. If you know me, you know that this is a hard concept for me to grasp. I've been making tons of packing lists and I'm continually trying to narrow them down. One thing I've been focusing on is finding new ways to wear my items. I've had this striped J. Crew dress for a couple of years and only recently I discovered multiple new ways to wear it. This will be perfect when trying to pack light this week! Six days until I leave!

Other ways to wear this casual dress (yes, they're selfies and they're not the greatest quality):

I'm really loving this idea of wearing a button up knotted over this dress. I just discovered this way of wearing these pieces, it's so easy to mix it up and feel like it's a new outfit with just a little switch!

With a nautical belt and a little mix of patterns with an anchor cardigan.

I wore this outfit last week, I love the mix of stripes and gingham. While I was wearing this I had one of those days where I was just loving my outfit!
