Caped in Neutrals

December 9, 2015

Cape: Ann Taylor (similar). Jeans: Gap. Shoes: Sole Society (similar). Sweater: Nordstrom (similar). Hat: Anthropologie (similar). Necklace: BaubleBar. Purse: Tory Burch.

I was on the fence about the whole cape trend, until I saw this one at Ann Taylor in the sale section on Black Friday. I was able to snag it for 70% off and am really loving it so far. I know capes are supposed to be oversized, but I went down a size so I wouldn't feel like I was drowning in fabric. Overall, I would recommend giving the trend a try! It's fun, and a really easy way to add dimension to an otherwise neutral, and basic outfit. Also...this tote (insert heart eyed emoji). Am, I right? I impulsively bought this beautiful tote when Shopbop had a sale a few weeks ago. When you see Tory Burch for 50% off, you jump on it!

How's everyone's week going? Mine has been going by fast! Work is busy right now, so that definitely makes the days whiz by. My mom will be in town this weekend, so I'm getting excited for her arrival!

PINCHme Review

December 8, 2015

Today I'm excited to tell you about PINCHme, which is a free monthly subscription box that sends you samples of products in exchange for feedback on the products you receive. How fun is that? I received my first PINCHme box last week and have been having fun trying out new beauty, health, and food products. My favorite would definitely have to be the Olay strawberry mint body wash and the Skinny Pop popcorn! It's honestly a great way to try out new products before you buy them.

It's very simple and completely free to sign up, which you can do here. The next sample day is December 15th, so mark your calendars!

Full disclosure, I did partner with PINCHme for this post, but I honestly do think it's a really cool company and wouldn't share it with you if it wasn't something that I believed in. If you do sign up, I'd love to know what you think!

Our Christmas Apartment

December 7, 2015

Welcome to our Christmas home! I had so much fun decorating our first apartment together for the holidays and I'm excited to finally share pictures here. This is definitely a picture-heavy post, but it's a good one! I also need to note that the lighting in our apartment is terrible, so the lighting kind of ranges in every picture. I'll try to link as many things as I can below. Hope you enjoy :)

Tree: Amazon. Star: Target.

I really did not want a fake tree. I grew up with real ones and feel like I'm betraying Christmas with this fake one. Okay, so maybe that's a little dramatic, but I am sad that it didn't work out to get a real tree.

Champagne flutes: World Market. Placemats: World Market. Tree candles: H&M. Gold chargers: World Market.

Santa Mug: Target. Silver Charger: World Market. Towel and blanket: Homegoods.

Plaid pillow: Homegoods. Snowflake pillow: Target.

Polka dot pitcher: Homegoods.

Not the most attractive picture, but I wanted to show the whole tree. We used a gold sparkly tablecloth as our tree skirt (thanks for the inspo mom!), because real tree skirts are like $50 and that wasn't going to happen.

I'm treating the top of this cabinet as our mantle so I decorated it with garland, cinnamon scented pinecones, and holly berries. This isn't quite finished, we're waiting on my gumdrop tree that I shipped from home, but I still wanted to share.

Well there you have it - our cozy, festive home!

Holiday Week Day Five

December 4, 2015

Skirt: Nordstrom (very similar). Turtleneck: Old Navy (similar). Heels: Jessica Simpson. Clutch: Jessica McClintock (similar). Earrings and Necklace: Odette and Ophelia c/o.

We're rounding out Holiday Week with everyone's favorite skirt! I posted this skirt on Instagram last week and everyone loved it. Rightfully so, if I do say so myself ;) This outfit is a pretty literal interpretation of the holiday season, but sometimes that suits the occasion. I personally love wearing all of the red, green, and gold this time of year. You can see how I styled this skirt last year here, it was one of my absolute favorite My Inner Fabulous outfits ever.

I hope you enjoyed Holiday Week, and thanks for following along! If I'm being honest, holiday content will definitely extend past this week. Be sure to check back on Monday to see how I decorated our apartment for Christmas!
