Travel Diary: Orlando

May 14, 2015

As you may know, I was in Orlando with my family over the weekend for my graduation trip. Why did I decide to go to Universal and Disney World for my college graduation you may ask? Because when else am I going to? It was never at the top of my family's list for vacations because my mom and sister don't really do rides. Since it was my turn to pick where we went, I decided why the hell not, let's go to Disney World! So here are some (okay, a lot) of pictures from our trip!

We stayed at a Universal hotel so that we could get early access to the park. My sister and I are very big Harry Potter fans (and now my mom finally read the books too!), so I think that's what we were most excited about. You can tell from the first few pictures that it wasn't crazy busy yet.

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.

Why yes, I did get a wand from Ollivander's.

Gringotts.

Hogsmeade was absolutely packed. It was so weird to feel like you're supposed to be in London (notice the snow?) but to be sweating your ass off. Here's a little throwback to when we went to the Leavesden studio in London.

Enjoying a frosty butterbeer!

I was honestly underwhelmed by Universal. I thought it was going to be grander than it was. The Harry Potter stuff was cool, but I didn't like it as much as the London tour. Therefore, we left around 4 to head back to the hotel and hangout by the pool. It was the perfect end to a very very hot day.

On our second day we headed to the Kennedy Space Center, which if you follow me on snapchat (myinnerfabulous) you'll know I was really excited about. When I was younger I would go through these obsessive phases where I would read all sorts of books and try to learn as much as possible about things. Among these obsessions was horses, dinosaurs, the Titanic, Harry Potter, and outer space. I've always had a sweet spot for space and astronomy ever since, so I really loved this whole day.

This is where rockets are built! This building is 52 stories high, but only one story. They have to ventilate the air every hour to keep clouds from forming in the building!

They had a Saturn rocket hanging on the ceiling in one of the buildings, it was honestly amazing.

After touring the Kennedy Space Center, we were only minutes away from the beach, so we headed over to Cocoa beach to walk and have dinner.

On our final full day we headed to Disney World. It was horrendously hot, but really cool to see what everyone has been talking about all of these years. It doesn't hurt that my sister and I really love Disney movies.

Gaston is one of our favorite characters.

After spending most of the day in the Magic Kingdom, we headed over to Epcot, which was fun to see.

We stayed until the end for fireworks, which were probably the best part of the day. Now I can say I've been to Disney World!

All-in-all it was a really fun trip. It always is when I'm with two of my favorite people ever. I'm glad I got to see Orlando, but I don't feel like I need to go back and do it again.

Phew, you made it all the way through! Well there you have it, my weekend in Orlando!
