Pictures from my bridal shower + what I wore

March 22, 2017

Can't believe I haven't posted in a week! I'm transitioning into a new role at work which has me stressed out and then we went home to Minnesota last weekend for tons of wedding planning so I decided to let myself off the hook when it came to the blog. I never want it to feel forced so I let myself not feel guilty for blowing off last week's posts. Sometimes you've just got to give yourself a break!

Keep reading to see details on what I wore to my first bridal shower and pictures from the day!

Dress: Nha Khanh rented via Rent the Runway. Shoes: Target (similar). Necklace: J. Crew Factory
I know you don't have to wear white to your bridal shower, but I thought it would be fun and I decided to rent a dress because I wasn't having much luck finding anything I felt like I'd ever wear again or anything that worked for a 40 degree day. This was my first experience with Rent the Runway and overall I was really impressed. The dress wasn't my favorite ever, but for the money and the occasion it was great and I received several compliments so I can't complain!

Last weekend was a whirlwind at home to knock out some wedding to-do's. We had a tasting at the venue, met with the wedding coordinator and music coordinator from the church, met with the Deacon who will be marrying us, met with a florist, went to look at linens, had a bridal shower and still found some time to see family and also Beauty and the Beast ;) Overall it was quite the productive weekend! We're starting to make the fun decisions like flowers and overall decor/vibe which I love.

The definite highlight of the weekend was my bridal shower on Saturday hosted by my wonderful aunt who is an excellent hostess. She seriously outdid herself. She put so much thought into everything and there were lots of adorable details to make me feel special. Definitely one to remember! Here are a few pics:

She had the cutest display of pictures of Mark and I hung from balloons!
I mean tiny donuts on tiny cake stands and personalized honey๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜it was perfect!

Hope you're having a fantastic week so far!

Fun fact: I really don't like being the center of attention so I was quite nervous for the shower. I was worried my cheeks would be on fire the whole time or that I would feel awkward. There were definitely moments where I was in the spotlight, but overall my anxiety over it was all for naught. It was good practice for the wedding day!
