Our Holiday Home

December 7, 2016

Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Just dropping in to share some pictures of our apartment decorated for Christmas. I haven't really shared many pictures of the apartment because I don't consider it "done" and can't decide if it's even worth trying to finish decorating at this point. That's a post for another day, so until then here are some photos of our little Christmas home!

Is this not the cutest little truck decoration? It's $3 at Target! I couldn't find it online but it was in the "dollar section." Here's something similar.
I'm so disappointed that I ended up with all blurry pictures of our bar cart :( we made some festive updates with antique looking lights and glassware
I stole so many decorating ideas from my mom, like using ornaments in glass dishes as decorations! Another tip I stole from her is to use a pretty tablecloth as your tree skirt if you don't feel like shelling out $50 for one or can't find one you like!
I'm normally a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decorations, but I couldn't resist this gold and marble tree from Home Goods. Shop a similar one here.
I'm always torn about whether to go with the whole color schemed, matching, beautiful tree or the one with fun, meaningful ornaments. I opt for the latter (until we have a house and I can do both hehe). I like to think that our tree says something about us, like...
That this was our first address together. I've decided to try making an ornament for all of the places we live together, but it might get to be too many some day!
My old boss gave me this Android ornament on my first day at Google last September.
I used to play the French horn and Mark played the...
trumpet!
We eat pizza every Friday and it's become a fun little tradition.
And last but not least that we got a cute, golden little puppy this year!

Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our home. You can find last year's post here (such terrible lighting in our old apartment)! Decorating for the holidays seriously makes me so happy. The smells of pine and cinnamon + a lit up tree + Frank Sinatra Christmas songs is seriously perfection!
