My Bridal Skincare Routine

Over the past couple of years I've upped my skincare game but really wanted to take excellent care of my skin leading up to our wedding. I got several compliments on my skin on our wedding day which made me feel like my hard work had paid off 😂 because my skincare is something I take pretty seriously. So today I'm sharing what I did to keep my skin in tip-top shape leading up to the big day.

All photos by Gina Zeidler and my hair and makeup was by Hayley Sachs Artistry. Adore both of them!

Below you'll find my routine starting from morning until evening. This was my regime leading up to the wedding but you'll find me talking in present tense below because I still do pretty much all of these things post-wedding. They worked so well for me that I just kept it going!

AM
Take Nature Made Fish Oil Gummies - I start my day by taking my gummies. I can't really tell you for sure that these did amazing things for my skin but the fatty acids in fish oil are really good for moisturizing skin. I love the little treat of taking gummies every morning so it didn't take much convincing for me to add these to my routine after reading about the great benefits!

Take Vitafusion Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies - Again, I can't point to anything specific that these did for my skin but they have biotin and vitamin C (and a whole lot of other stuff) in them which are both excellent for skin health.

Cleanse with Olay Age Defying Classic Cleanser - It's never too early to start using anti-aging products! I've been using several of the Olay Age Defying products for a few years and despite trying other fancier brands I keep coming back to it because it just works for my skin!

Apply Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate - I've talked about this product before and absolutely love it. It was one of the products I added to my routine after we got engaged when I wanted to really be good to my skin. It's very moisturizing and just firms everything up. There's vitamin C and caffeine in here and if you apply right after you wash your face I swear you can feel the caffeine tightening and waking up your skin! I sound insane, I know. The only downside to this product is that it can stain. It doesn't stain my skin, which I've seen some reviews where this happened to people, but it has left kind of an orange stain on my pillowcase. Gross. Because of that I tried switching to a different anti-wrinkle serum but didn't find anything that worked as well for me.

Moisturize with Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle Day Lotion With SPF 15 - Again, I've been using this for a few years and love it. I wear SPF every day and love how lightweight this product is, it absorbs very quickly. I like to wait to apply until the Kiehl's serum has had a chance to absorb so I'll usually brush my teeth before I put my this on.

Throughout the day
Stay out of the sun - I realized a few years ago that it wasn't worth it to try and get tan. I'm naturally pale and decided to just embrace that. I knew I had to be extra good about not getting sunburned leading up to the wedding because my whole back and arms were exposed in my dress and I didn't want any weird tan lines. I was kind of obsessive about applying sunscreen and not spending more than 20 minutes in direct sunlight. It paid off though and I had zero tan lines 😏

Drink a ton of water - I started doing this the time I started working full-time just for an excuse to get up and walk around a bit throughout the day. I usually drink around 80 oz a day which I know still isn't quite as much as you're supposed to do but it's a ton compared to how much I used to drink. Drinking more water is the one thing that has had the most noticeable affect on my skin. The number of breakouts I had dramatically decreased after I started drinking more water regularly. bridal-skincare-routine
PM
Cleanse with Olay Age Defying Classic Cleanser - I use this both in the morning and evening.

Tone with Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water - I started using this stuff just as makeup remover to get the last remnants of my mascara off but loved it so much I started using it as a toner on my whole face. I use it to make sure I'm really getting all of the makeup and grime off.

Apply Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream - I only use this at night so it has all evening to sink in and do its work without makeup on top. I apply just the tiniest bit all around my the bone under and around my eye. I've had this one little pot for almost year and am just now needing to replace it. This was another one where I tried a couple other brands but just wasn't loving the products as much as this one.

Apply Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate - Another product I use both morning and night. Love the extra bit of moisture it provides and the feeling that it's working right when I put it on.

Lather on Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream - This is the last layer of the evening and it's so rich it just locks everything else in.

Sporadically
Apply L'Oreal's Clay Masks - I use these about twice a week and rotate which one I use depending on what I feel my skin needs. I prefer to put one of these on and let it sit about 10 minutes and then hop in the shower to make sure I get all of the product off.

Use Dermal Korea Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheet - I also try to use one of these 1-2 times a week. I typically put one on after a shower or washing my face and then after about 15 minutes I'll remove the face mask and then pat the excess moisture into my face. Then depending on time of day I'll either do my regular AM or PM moisturizing routine afterwards. These are a little intimidating because a lot of the packaging is in Korean, but the ingredients are in English which is the most important part. I bought these on a whim while looking for collagen masks from Amazon and am hooked. You get 16 masks for $11, which is not bad at all. I used the "Gold" mask on the morning of the wedding to be extra moisturized and loved that it felt really indulgent and fancy since it was obviously a special occasion!

I did a little bit of product testing leading up to the wedding but made sure I wasn't using any new products about two months before the wedding. I have sensitive skin and was so worried I'd get some awful rash (which actually happened to me several months before the wedding).

So there you have it! This is my full regime that I still follow and have been really pleased with the results. I never would have thought I'd be into skincare and researching moisturizers and face masks but when it comes to your face it's worth it ;)
