Hello hello and happy Friday! The Friday before a long weekend is just the best, isn't it? Let's keep those good vibes going with my first wedding post in a while. I'm going to break down our photos into different parts of the day and we'll start with all of the getting ready preparations and our first look. Buckle up because you're in for lots of pics!
Yes, I did buy the Carrie shoes and they are SO stunning in person.
I'm wearing these pajamas and my bridesmaids are wearing these. Theirs were wayyy comfier than mine and so naturally I bought myself a pair afterwards! You can't really tell but theirs are grey and mine were white which were the colors we'd be wearing all day. Not the most unique idea I've ever had but I thought it was cute!
The lovely Hayley Sachs did our hair and makeup.
I love these photos because they'll always make me think of how funny and awkward they are to take. They make for a cute photo but putting my earrings in is something I generally prefer to do myself😂p.s. my earrings are back in stock and on sale right now!
Don't worry, my sister got a turn too! She even helped me put on my perfume...and shoes!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the hotel the guys were struggling to tie their bowties. They were all watching YouTube videos trying to figure it out😊
After I was all ready to go I had to wait awhile for our photographer (the amazing Gina Zeidler) to coordinate us and try to figure out where we should do the first look since we originally planned to do it outside and it had rained. Thankfully she found a deserted hallway in the hotel with a pretty pink chair for some photos.
Honestly, waiting for the first look was one of the worst parts of the day! I was so anxious and just wanted to see him and get the day started. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like I was fully able to enjoy getting ready with the girls because I just wanted to go see Mark. I know that it's more fun to do a big reveal when you're all dressed up but I can also see the appeal to waking up with your partner or seeing them right away on your wedding day to ease any anxieties! We chose to do the first look for this exact reason, we knew we'd be anxious and wanted a minute to ourselves before the madness. I liked that we were able to do this privately (plus four of our closest photographer and videographer friends, of course)!
I omitted all of the photos here of me ugly crying because I didn't want to pose for this photo and just wanted him to turn around to see me😂
^that is the look of relief!
Then we took a few portraits in this hallway and Gina worked some veil magic, per usual.
How handsome did he look? All of the heart eyes.
I bought him pizza socks to wear because if you know us you know we LOVE pizza and eat it every Friday night.
Ugh, these photos make me so happy and nostalgic! Well there you have it: part one of our wedding day. I will be sharing more in the coming weeks! In case you missed it I've already written the following wedding posts:
Thanks for stopping by!
